Hey there, I’m Sky- the Cryptid currently in question.
I’m a 30-year-old author and creature enthusiast from a small town in Illinois, obsessed with stories, heartfelt characters, and just the right amount of spook. My days are a mix of writing, sketching strange little creatures, binging playlists from every genre imaginable, and attempting to keep my plants alive (so far, so good).
My aesthetic? Spooky-cute through and through. Think cryptids with coffee mugs, ghosts in cozy socks, and Mothman as the ultimate style icon. I live with my younger brother, my partner, and Luna, my joyful, sharp-minded 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, who’s a fully-fledged service dog now (we lovingly call her Luna the Service Dingo– she even has her own Instagram: @Luna.the.Service.Dingo), and formerly Bear, our beloved German Shepherd–Basset Hound mix, who we miss dearly.
I’m still a sucker for long car rides with the windows down- even after my car accident last October, and I’ve officially declared myself a Jeep Ghoul forever. No other car brand will ever earn my trust.
Over the past year, The Crippled Cryptid has become a place where I share the messy, magical, and sometimes frustrating realities of life: my service dog journey, living with chronic illness, cooking and baking adventures, and gardening (even if 2025 tried to break me).
Other things I love: spooky podcasts on full blast, daydreaming about turning my backyard into a tiny haunted garden, and discovering the little oddities of everyday life.
Stick around. It’s weird here. In a good way. 👻
Written with coffee on one side, a heating pad on the other, and Luna snoring at my feet.
