It’s after 2am, and it’s raining.
I had a long day, and I should be asleep. I did all of the things I was supposed to. I ate dinner. I’ve drank plenty of water (with both Liquid IV and my new Nuun supplements that I had delivered yesterday, the Fruit Punch is so yummy!) So, why the hell can’t I sleep?
I’ve laid in bed with my eyes closed. I turned on Flowers in the Attic, the one movie that always puts me to sleep. Turned off the TV entirely, and opted for my Lofi sleep playlist instead. And what do I get for it? What do I get for going to sleep at 10:30pm instead of staying up all night like I normally do, thanks to the insomnia?
I fucking wake up at 1:30am, and cannot go back to fucking sleep.
This is why the DRG implant is so important.
This, right here. Because, I am in so much fucking pain that I cannot sleep. Because, it feels like someone is taking a taser and running electrical pulses up and down my leg, all the way into my back. Because the throbbing might drive me crazy. Because, not even an ice pack- or 7 ice packs are bringing me any significant amount of relief.
It’s raining.
It’s cool outside, and the humidity is gone.
This isn’t fair. Why can’t I sleep?
Why me…?
