Okay, so I might be running a little behind on this post—but when you’re juggling chronic illness, pup training, and whispering life back into an entire blog (👀), sometimes the celebrations take the front seat while the writing waits its turn.
That said… Bear’s 11th Gotcha Day was on April 13th, and there was no way I was going to let the day slip by without celebrating my couch-loving, cheese-devouring, fence-patrol champion.
We grilled out in his honor—ribs made just the way he loves them, with a special set set aside just for Bear, mild and pup-safe. He supervised every delicious step from the back door, tail wagging like the king of the crypt he is. After dinner, we surprised him with a frosted doggy cupcake that he inhaled in one go (classic Bear). His satisfaction levels were off the charts.
And little Luna? She got her own springtime adventure to join in the festivities! 🐣✨

While Bear claimed his celebratory nap, Luna donned her service vest and joined us for a doggy Easter egg hunt—complete with treat-stuffed eggs, dogs galore, and even a run-in with the Easter Bunny himself. She sniffed, snacked, and socialized like a pro. It was one of her biggest outings yet, and she handled it all like a seasoned explorer of the spoopy and sweet.
Watching both of them shine in their own ways—Bear, the dignified elder cryptid; Luna, the bright and bouncing apprentice—was the kind of magic that reminds me why I call them my cryptid crew. And to top off the night, haunting the couch, and watching a few episodes of our favorite show together- Supernatural.
So even if this post is fashionably late, the joy was timeless. 💫
Here’s to Bear’s 11 years of love and loyalty, to Luna’s brave spring leaps, and to many more magical, slightly chaotic days in our cryptid cave.
With late-night typing and grateful hearts,
🌙 The Crippled Cryptid
