Today marks one whole year since I brought home my scrappy, speckled sidekick, and what a year it’s been! From those first clumsy, zoomie-filled days to her growing into the brilliant service dog she’s becoming, Luna has truly changed my life. (For the better, of course.) She’s my freedom, my peace of mind, and let’s be real, my absolute favorite chaos gremlin. 💜🖤🌻
🐶 The Boofday Cake Extravaganza 🥜🎂
To kick off the celebrations, Babe and I baked her a homemade white cake with a thick, and creamy peanut butter frosting- all dog-safe, of course! (No toxic ingredients here people, calm down, just pure, tail-wagging goodness.) She demolished her cake like the little whirlwind she is, leaving a flurry of crumbs and a very satisfied, peanut butter-smeared grin in her wake.
🍗 Gourmet Dinner, Anyone? 🥩🍖
Dinner was extra special, too- a heaping bowl of lamb kibble topped with fresh, shredded turkey. Nothing but the best for my girl. She gobbled it down like the absolute food-motivated gremlin she is, pausing only to shoot me a glance that said, “More, please?” (As if I could ever say no to those mismatched eyes- especially on her special day!)
🌞 Sunshine, Tennis Balls, and Snuggles 🎾🐾
Once the sugar rush hit, we headed outside to soak up some sunshine. There’s something so pure about the way she tears across the yard after her favorite tennis ball, paws pounding the earth like a tiny, furry hurricane. After thoroughly exhausting herself, we went for a car ride- her second favorite thing in the world (right behind whatever I’m eating, of course).
📦 The Gear that Finally Arrived! 🌻💫
And, as if the stars aligned just for her special day, her stunning new sunflower harness from Gillies.Gear on Instagram finally arrived! It’s absolutely perfect- sturdy, stylish, and with velcro patches that I can swap out depending on her mood (or mine). 🌜 One Year of Adventure, Love, and a Little Bit of Chaos 🌌🖤
It’s hard to believe it’s been a full year already. She’s grown from a wiggly little pup with boundless energy into a fierce, loyal protector and a constant source of joy. Here’s to many more years of adventures, couch snuggles, and wild, tail-wagging chaos.
