Hi frens! It’s me, Luna! 🌞🐾
Today is a very special day- it’s called Litha (that’s a fancy word witchy hoomans use for the Summer Solstice)! My mommas told me it’s the longest day and the shortest night of the whole year. That means extra time for playing fetch, sniffing all the sniffs, and helping out in the garden (I’m very good at supervising, in case you didn’t know).
Litha is when the sun is at its biggest and brightest, and we say thank you to the sun for making the plants grow and for keeping us nice and warm. (I like the warm part when I’m snoozing on the porch… not so much when it’s 90 degrees out- even a super pup like me needs to take breaks inside! And you should too!)
This morning, we went out to the garden. I helped dig up some pesky weeds- gotta protect those zucchini blossoms! The yellow grape tomato plant gave us our first tomato already, and oh pup, it was so sweet. I keep sniffing around it, just in case it’s hiding another one for me. Sadly, the rest weren’t ready yet. There are flowers on the zucchini, tomatoes, jalapeños, green beans, and cantaloupe too- I think that means more noms soon! (I’m especially excited for the green beans! This pup loves green beans!)
After a bit of gardening (and a lot of panting because wow, it’s hot out there), I chased my ball until my tongue was hanging out. Then we came inside, and I shared some salmon skins with Bear. He acts like a grump sometimes, but he’s a good big brother.

So that’s how I’m celebrating Litha- with sunshine, garden adventures, yummy treats, and snuggles. I hope you’re enjoying the longest day of the year too, whatever way makes your tail wag!
Paw high-fives and wags,
💛 Luna Moth
