September is Library Card Sign-Up Month.

Well, I think that it’s fair to say that I learned something new today. And for someone who loves books and reading as much as I do, you’d think I’d probably know this but, apparently September is library card sign up month, and I had no idea.

Today, Angel and I went to the local library to get her a library card, so she has something to do while I’m recovering from surgery, and also so that I could find out my pin for the Libby app because being bedbound with nothing to do sounds like a nightmare. One of the perks of doing this though, was that she was entered into a gift card drawing, and we got a neat sign to put in the front yard about how we’re proud to have library cards.

We both picked out a couple books while we were there too. I grabbed The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman (Practical Magic fans, I hope you’re as excited as I am. I also got Archeron by Sherrilynn Kenyon, both of which I am ridiculously excited about. To keep the productivity going, while Grandma was dropped off at radiation therapy, the two of us took a basket of old books that I no longer want to Half Price Books.

It’s been a productive day but, that’s not even all because last night after eating dinner we set up the crockpot to make a gorgeous chicken bone broth, which we used in part to make chicken fried rice today. The rest is jarred up with some chicken and veggies, and once it has noodles, consider us meal-prepped for after surgery.

Have a good Friday night everyone.
